We welcome the bizarre, in fact, we  encourage it. Send us your lists; resumes; transcribed conversations.  The surest path to acceptance is the element of surprise.

We accept non-fiction of all genres, including but not limited to memoir, essays, interviews, reviews, etc.

We will only publish reviews of books and chaps released by small and/or independent publishers and presses. The big guys get enough attention already. If submitting a review, please include the press or publisher, price, length and purchase information  for the work that you are reviewing.

Interviews are not confined to writers. We will consider any intriguing or innovative interview subject.

Emerge Literary Journal believes that #mentalillnessawareness and #endingthestigma are of paramount importance. We believe in the necessity of sharing our mental illness stories to facilitate writing through illness and create broader awareness. We aim to publish and showcase work in this category in each issue. We ask that you follow our regular guidelines (full guidelines here) for poetry and prose when submitting to this category.
