Writers identifying as Jewish, we want your stories! Stories that celebrate Jewish culture, heritage, and customs. Like manna in the desert, Jewish stories have nourished the Jewish people and long sustained them through the most challenging of times.
Tell us yours! Stories handed down from generation to generation. Stories you will pass down to the next. Tell us about the first time you knew in your bones that you were connected to the tribe. Tell us about sleep away camp, your bar/bat mitzvah, your first fast, your last shiva. Seat us at Zadie’s seder. Share your mom’s best latke recipe. Got some Jewish jokes—weave them in. We love humor!
Telling these stories keeps memories alive and Jewish heritage from being erased. They offer a way for others to connect with ancient and more recent Jewish customs and ways of life through shared interests, challenges and triumphs.
Let’s make Manna Songs a collection celebrating Jewish Joy—as complicated as that may be!
